Real Answers, Not Just a Spray-and-Go Visit

Found scorpions around your property? Enviro Guard helps Las Vegas homeowners and business owners find where scorpions are getting in, what is bringing them close, and how to treat the problem.

Scorpion Control That Starts With Your Property

Every scorpion problem is different. That’s why we don’t just spray where you saw a scorpion and leave.

Our technicians inspect your property for signs of activity, entry points, and places where scorpions may be hiding. We’ll explain what we find and suggest a treatment plan based on your property and the level of activity.

Whether you’ve found one scorpion or you’re seeing them often, we’ll help you understand what is going on and what to do next.

Why Are Scorpions Showing Up in Las Vegas?

Scorpions are looking for three basic things: food, shelter, and moisture.
Las Vegas is hot and dry, so shaded areas around your home can give scorpions a place to hide. Rock landscaping, block walls, garages, and other protected areas can all become hiding spots.

Common conditions include:

  • Rock and gravel landscaping that creates hiding spaces
  • Block walls and masonry with small gaps and open spaces
  • Garages, sheds, and storage areas with clutter
  • Cracks and gaps around foundations, stucco, doors, windows, and utility lines
  • Irrigation and landscaping areas where moisture may attract insects
  • Outdoor storage, wood piles, and debris that give scorpions shelter

Scorpions also eat insects. If you have a lot of insects around your home, you may also have a food source that keeps scorpions nearby.

Seeing one scorpion does not always mean you have an infestation. A single outdoor sighting is not unusual in the Las Vegas Valley. But repeated sightings, scorpions inside your home, or scorpions in several areas of your property are good reasons to schedule an inspection.

Common Scorpions Found Around Las Vegas

Two scorpions often found in Southern Nevada are the Arizona bark scorpion and the desert hairy scorpion.

  • Arizona bark scorpion. This scorpion is smaller and thinner than many other scorpions. It is considered medically significant. A sting can cause strong pain, numbness, tingling, and other symptoms. Children, older adults, and pets may have a higher risk of serious problems.
  • Desert hairy scorpion. This scorpion is much larger and heavier. It is common in the desert Southwest. Its sting is usually less serious than a bark scorpion sting, but any sting should be taken seriously if severe symptoms occur.

Not sure what you found? You don’t have to identify it yourself. Our technicians can help identify the scorpion and explain what it may mean for your property.

Where Do Scorpions Hide?

Scorpions are mostly active at night. During the day, they often stay in dark, protected places.
Common hiding spots include:

  • Foundation cracks and gaps
  • Spaces around doors and windows
  • Block walls and masonry gaps
  • Rock beds and landscaping
  • Garages, sheds, and storage areas
  • Outdoor clutter and debris
  • Shoes, clothing, towels, or bedding if a scorpion gets inside

Scorpions can also glow under ultraviolet light. That’s why nighttime UV inspections can help our technicians find scorpions that are hard to see during the day.

How Do Scorpions Get Inside?

Scorpions don’t need a large opening to get into your home.

They may enter through:

  • Gaps under doors
  • Damaged window screens
  • Cracks around windows
  • Openings around pipes and utility lines
  • Cracks around the foundation
  • Other small gaps around the home

Landscaping and outdoor shelter close to your home can also bring scorpions closer to these entry points.

That’s why treating only the inside of your home may not solve the problem. Good scorpion control also looks at what is happening outside.

Why Is Scorpion Control Difficult?

Scorpions are hard to find because they spend much of their time hidden. They are mostly active at night and can move through small openings around a property.

Spraying the one scorpion you saw does not always solve the reason it was there.

Effective scorpion pest control in Las Vegas means looking at the whole property. We look for places where scorpions may be entering, hiding, and finding food.

This helps us build a treatment plan that fits your property instead of using the same approach for every home.

What Happens When You Call Enviro Guard?

Inspection
We look for signs of scorpion activity and conditions that may be helping the problem. This can include foundation areas, doors, windows, garages, rock gardens, landscaping, pools, and other accessible areas.
Assessment
We’ll explain what we find. This may include entry points, hiding places, food sources, and the amount of activity we see.
Treatment
If treatment is needed, we use properly labeled pest-control products and follow the product directions. We focus on areas where scorpions and the insects they eat are likely to be active.
Prevention Support
We’ll also show you simple ways to make your property less inviting to scorpions. This may include reducing outdoor clutter, managing extra moisture, improving door sweeps or screens, and sealing easy-to-reach gaps.

Follow-Up
Some properties may need more than one visit. Others may only need a one-time treatment and prevention work.

If ongoing service makes sense for your property, we’ll explain why. We won’t automatically recommend recurring service when you don’t need it.

How Much Does Scorpion Pest Control in Las Vegas Cost?

Killing the scorpion you see doesn’t necessarily solve the infestation.

There is no single price for every property. The cost of scorpion control can depend on:

  • Property size
  • Property layout
  • Level of scorpion activity
  • Areas that need treatment
  • How easy the property is to access
  • One-time or ongoing service

An inspection helps us understand what your property needs. This means you aren’t paying for a treatment plan that may not fit your situation.

What Can I Do Right Now?

If you find a scorpion, a few simple steps can help:

  • Clear clutter, wood piles, and stored items away from outside walls
  • Trim plants and landscaping away from the home
  • Check for visible cracks and gaps
  • Make sure door sweeps and window screens are in good shape
  • Shake out shoes and clothing left outside
  • Reduce extra moisture around the property
  • Keep outdoor storage areas clean and organized

These steps can reduce hiding places and entry points. However, they may not be enough if you have an active scorpion problem.

How Do I Prevent Scorpions From Coming Back?

You can’t remove every scorpion from the Las Vegas desert. But you can make your property harder for them to enter and less attractive to them.

Keep up with cracks and gaps around your home. Keep landscaping and outdoor storage from creating shelter next to the house. Reduce extra moisture and limit insect activity around the property.

If our inspection finds conditions that may be helping the problem, fixing those conditions is an important part of long-term scorpion control.

A Note on Scorpion Sting Safety

Most scorpion stings cause pain and other symptoms around the sting. Some can be more serious.

Arizona bark scorpions are especially important to take seriously because their venom can cause stronger symptoms.

If someone develops severe symptoms after a sting, seek medical care right away. Keep children and pets away from areas where scorpions have been found, and never handle a live scorpion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does seeing one scorpion mean I have an infestation?

Not always. A single scorpion, especially outside, is not unusual in Las Vegas. Repeated sightings or finding scorpions inside your home are better reasons to have your property inspected.

Why do I keep finding scorpions inside my house?

Scorpions may be getting in through small gaps around your home. Insects, moisture, and nearby hiding places can also keep scorpions close to the property.

How do scorpions get into Las Vegas homes?

They can enter through gaps under doors, damaged screens, cracks, utility openings, and other small gaps around your home.

Can I get rid of scorpions myself?

You can remove hiding places, seal obvious gaps, reduce extra moisture, and improve screens and door sweeps. But repeated scorpion activity may need professional inspection and treatment.

How often should scorpion control be done?

It depends on your property and how much activity you have. Some homes may only need one treatment. Others may benefit from regular service. An inspection can help determine what is right for you.

Are bark scorpions dangerous?

Arizona bark scorpions are considered medically significant because their venom can cause more serious symptoms than many other scorpions. If a sting causes severe symptoms, seek medical care.

Found a Scorpion? Start With an Inspection.

You don’t have to guess if that scorpion was a one-time visitor or part of a bigger problem.
Enviro Guard can inspect your property, explain what we find, and recommend the right next step. That could be a one-time treatment, prevention work, or ongoing scorpion pest control in Las Vegas.

Steve was very friendly from the beginning. I had a good feeling about his services, even when we first talked over the phone. I’m very specific about the areas outside my home that are sprayed. I have kids who are always playing outside and have VERY sensitive skin. I told Steve the specific areas I wanted treated. He was understanding and followed my instructions carefully. Also, I didn’t notice any bugs in my garage after Steve treated the area. I can tell he cares about his customer’s being satisfied with his work. I highly recommend him.

Steve and team gave a good price explained what type of service they provide and we are happy with our first application, having the option to call them if we see resurgence between applications is a definitely a peace of mind. We have two kids and a toddler who runs around bare feet even in the backyard so, having EnviroGuard treat our surroundings is well worth it, both environmental impact, limited footprint and safety for our kids.

We hired Enviroguard because we wanted to address pest issues without dangerous chemicals. I like that their products are eco-friendly and safe for the family. Their prices are affordable and they are reliable. Certain times of the year, like in the spring, the ants tend to show up more readily and they will always come out and do an extra treatment if necessary. We have had no major issues with bugs since we hired this company. I would highly recommend them.
